Miller Van Pelt  DESIGN

Interior Design Tradition Golf Club Residence

With the design directive from the wife: "you can take the girl out of the city...but you can not take the city out of the girl", we set about creating a more transitional-- Continentally inspired interior than usually found in the desert for a young couple with children in this 8300 square foot Tradition Golf Club residence by Kristi Hanson Architects.  From classic detailing including scaled moldings, Venetian plaster wall finishes, antiqued beamed ceilings to custom iron grillwork, the home invokes all the warmth and charm enjoyed by European style and design.  A Desert inspired earthy color palette with tapestry, chenille and silk fabrics, trims and tassels from Kravet, Pindler & Pindler, Robert Allen and others, the furnishings were deliberately chosen to reflect a more 'collected' approach in compatable styles with harmonious but different finishes, as though this was an old family home updated and added to by generations.

NOTE:  ALL drawings have been hand-drawn & colored by Reginald Van Pelt.

"The most rewarding experience a designer can have in this business is to find
a client where the relationship 'clicks', whether long-term or just for the term of the project. A connection, sometimes not unlike a marriage, only about mutualideas and visions of design possibliites and solutions; finishing each other's ideas dreaming and scheming in sync, focused together with creating an inviting, beautiful,
reflective place they can proudly call home."
